Tales of Mahabharata
Tales of the Mahabharata is an RPG that takes you back into an age of gods and heroes. Journey through challenging levels and see the drama of history. Become an ancient Indian hero and earn favor with the different gods of India. Are you ready for one of the greatest wars of all time?
My role on the game was as a Producer, Writer, and Designer. I managed the team and assigned tasks. I was also required to have an in depth understanding of the story. I spent a lot of time researching and reading different texts centered around the ancient epic. I also designed several levels in engine and cutscenes in engine. This was done using the visual scripting tools of RPG Maker MV. The game is now released on Steam for purchasing.
Writing Pieces
Coronation Dialogue
The document attached below contains the coronation dialogue for Tales of Mahabharata. The document includes interactable NPC Dialogue for before the main scene and the main cutscene dialogue. The cutscene dialogue was written for a scene in which one of the Pandavas, Yudhishthira, is being named king of the world. The dialogue was written in a way that condensed the scene and mimic’s other versions of the story. This scene was also made in engine by myself. I used the visual coding software of RPG Maker MV and choreographed the scene.
Arjuna’s quests
The document attached below contains the dialogue for the cutscenes in which Arjuna gets his quests. These provide the player with choices and options that help the player feel more in control. These are typically giving the illusion of choice when in reality they don’t affect the game apart from different dialogue. The choices had to be this way due to limitations, and ultimately serve the purpose of telling the story without diverging from the source material.
